This is a print of my painting from 2017 when I was landlocked by the Lismore floods. I called her Lizzie. She's made of many layers of different coloured discarded paper and paint on a wooden offcut. She has darkness and shadow but also light and serenity. She is friendly, and her wet strands of hair have been pulled back, she's made an effort to look pretty with flowers in her hair and her favourite vintage knit top. The patchwork background has been unified with a thick coat of paint. Her eyes are a little tired or sad, but alert and determined and looking slightly over the viewers shoulder, to the future.
